5 Things To Do When You’re Feeling Sad
Everyone has bad days, here are some ways to feel better.
1) Go for a walk.
Sometimes, a little movement is the key to feeling better. Exercise is known to cause a release in endorphins, which leads to feeling good.
And walking definitely counts as exercise. Get away from screens for a second and be outside.
Walk around and blow off some steam. It’ll help you clear your thoughts.
2) Talk to someone you trust.
The act of simply expressing yourself, of sharing what you’ve experienced and what you’re feeling, will make you feel better.
3) Don’t be afraid to let out your emotions.
Just let it out. Many people are afraid to cry, but sometimes that release is what we need to get past a difficult moment.
4) Remember that emotions are usually temporary.
“This too shall pass” is hard to keep in perspective, especially when you’re in the throes of intense emotions.
But most of the time, things do get better eventually, and emotions fade.
5) Know there are resources to help.
It’s ok to need help. Crisis Text Line can help connect you to the resources you need.
